5th January 2009

All I can say is Oooops!!!  Let me try and catch up….again.

Saturday 3rd January.  Stayed in bed quite late at Toms when we got up everyone was out.  We had coffee, then I read while Tom worked on his computer.  Toria and Paul then arrived (Tom’s sister and brother-in-law) to collect Charlie (their 5 year old son) who had stayed over.  After they had gone we had a lovely tea and then sat and watched telly for a while.  Tom and I snuggled and then he took me home at about 11.30 and which point I checked my phone and realised my 9 am driving lesson had been moved to 8am! So when I got home I went straight to bed!

Sunday 4th January.  I set my alarm for 7.15 and snoozed it until about 7.35 at which point I finally dragged my sleepy butt out of my lovely warm bed.  I was ready for Paul (driving instructor) but I think my driving suffered a little from my late night, I couldn’t seem to get much right first time where my manouvers were concerned, though my driving around was fine.  When my lesson ended Iwent back to bed and the next thing I remember is my dad coming into my room to ask me if I was getting up today.  I said ‘yes eventually’ and when he had gone out I checked my clock on my phone.  It was 2.20pm!  I got up, got a shower and got dressed while watching  few episodes of Buffy.  There was a knock at the door which I answered and it was Diane, Shauna and Alexis (Step-mum, step-sister and niece).  I made coffee and we sat and had a chat and waited for dad to get back from Morrisons.  He did and we continued to chat until about 5.25 when I took the dog for a walk.  When I got back dad and I had tea and watched a few episodes of Boston Legal.  Then we drank some wine and had a fantastic chat where I may have ranted about everything and anything that was on my mind (I was a little drunk).  I think it helped to say what was bubbling around inside my noggin and it was lovely to have a good chin wag with my dad.  I eventually went to bed and fell straight to sleep.

5th January.  Today it was incredibly hard to get out of bed, I really didn’t want to.  I got up and dressed and had a quick coffee then went to catch my bus.  On the bus I started reading Wuthering Heights, I was expecting it to be a kind of sense and sensibility style mushy novel but it doesn’t appear that way.  When I got to work I found I was the only one there in the lab (George was booking in, Anna was reading and Janine and Sarah hadn’t arrived yet) so I started the morning jobs.  I asked Andy if I could have a meeting about my contract of which I don’t really have one.  When we finally got around to it he said one of our biggest customers hadn’t yet renewed the sample list and therefore until he knew what they were going to do, he didn’t know what he could ‘offer me’.  So instead of asking for the pay rise as I intended I am now faced with the prospect of possibly being out of a job.  So I’m a little nervous and hope that this customer renews the sample list.  I went home had tea and watched more Boston Legal with dad and now I’m sat writing my blog.  But now I’m going to bed hopefully to sleep but with an insecure job I’m not sure how easily sleep will come.  Take care.
